Course Instruction


SafeDriving Techniques is a state approved driver education program consisting of 36 50-minute periods of classroom instruction, and 14 periods of in-car instruction (seven 50 minute periods observing and seven 50-minute periods of driving) and includes a standardized road skills examination.

To learn to operate a motor vehicle or to secure a driver's license:
i Students 18 years of age and under are required to complete a state approved driver's education program before receiving a driver's license.
i Those students 18 years of age and under are required to complete thirty six 50-minute periods of classroom instruction to receive a Driver Education Certificate.
i A minimum of fourteen 50-minute periods (seven periods of behind the wheel and seven periods of observation) is required for any student under 19 years of age.
i Adult students who have never been licensed have the same number of periods required. (Students 19 years of age and older may hold their learner's permit for 30 days in lieu of completing a driver training course.)
